China warns Canada of ‘consequences’ of helping US

BEIJING (AP) — China warned Canada that it needs to be aware of the consequences of aiding the U.S. in an extradition case involving Chinese tech giant Huawei that is believed to have sparked the detentions of two Canadians in China.

Foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang's comments came after U.S. Vice President Mike Pence and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called for the release of Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor.

Oklahoma Scene: OBU baseball coach Bobby Cox retires

Longtime Oklahoma Baptist baseball coach Bobby Cox announced Friday that he will retire.
Cox went 1,378-643 (.682) during his 35-year tenure with the Bison.
Cox led OBU to four appearances in the NAIA World Series before the program joined the National Christian College Athletic Association.
The Bison won NCCAA titles in 2016 and 2017 as they transitioned into NCAA Division II. OBU earned Division II regional berths in 2018 and 2019.

Inhofe tours damage in El Reno, says federal aid is a few weeks away

By Kayla BranchStaff writerkbranch@oklahoman.comEL RENO — Sen. Jim Inhofe stopped in El Reno on Friday morning on his statewide tour of damage left by recent tornadoes and flooding.
Inhofe rode in a helicopter to observe the destruction in El Reno left by an EF3 tornado that killed two, injured dozens of others and destroyed mobile homes, a motel, a car dealership and more.
“This is bad.
