Prince Andrew

U.S. lawsuit claims Prince Andrew slept with underage ‘sex slave’

A U.S. lawsuit against investment banker Jeffrey Epstein has implicated a prominent member of the British Royal Family.

Epstein, a disgraced hedge fund mogul who pleaded guilty in 2008 to soliciting a minor for prostitution, is being sued by women who say he loaned them out as sex slaves to his rich and powerful friends more than a decade ago, including Prince Andrew. According to The Guardian, the Duke of York was named in a motion by an anonymous woman in a Florida court this week as part of proceedings against Epstein. The woman alleges that between 1999 and 2002, while she was still underage, she was “forced to have sexual relations with this prince” in New York, London and on a Caribbean island owned by Epstein.

Prince Andrew is Queen Elizabeth’s third child and younger brother to Prince Charles, placing him fifth in the line of succession to the British throne.

Buckingham Palace denies any wrongdoing by the prince, telling BBC News it would not comment comment in detail on a U.S. lawsuit “to which the Duke of York is not a party.”

“However, for the avoidance of doubt, any suggestion of impropriety with under age minors is categorically untrue,” a spokesperson told the BBC.

Royal Christmas Style

The Duchess of Cambridge

The British Royal Family headed to Sandringham Church in Norfolk, England yesterday for the traditional family carol service and celebration. This year, as never before, coats and hats were the order of the day, fashion wise. It must be said that the fascinator-style hat, a small oval or round-shaped felt creation, perched on the side of the head has now become standard issue for British royals at church services. It is a style of hat almost never seen on anyone else. Far be it from us to criticize but it could be time for somebody to break out a Fedora. Our money would be on one of Prince Andrew’s daughters, possibly Beatrice, for this. Her ankle boots yesterday were almost too hight for rural Norfolk itself, never mind the royal churchyard. Anyway, everyone looked extremely chic, if a little safe. Next year, how about Harry in a trilby?

The Royal Family were joined by The Middleton family and the Queen’s children and grandchildren were in attendance, though the Duchess of Cambridge confessed to a bystander that Prince George had been left at home thanks to his current noisy phase and the Duchess of Cornwall was resting a bad back. They’re just like the rest of us!
